BOSSAM 보쌈
boiled pork

Sometimes, we went to visit my aunt, who is the youngest sister of my mom. She lives in Gangwon-do and we took a drive to her place for some fresh air. Every time we visit, she cooks Bossam for us. she is really good at it! Even thought it is meat, Bossam is very healthy way to eat meat since all the oil gets out of the meat. We only eat soft meat.

So i watched how my aunt cooks. She puts lots of things! Of course put pork and then apple, pear, onion, green onion, garlic, coffee, soybean paste, and so on! and she boils it for hours and hours. it is to get rid of meat smell and soften meat. i thought it was easy but after watching her cooking, i become very very grateful for what she's done for us. :))) oh, and it's because it's very delicious lol

In korea, we eat this boiled pork, Bossam with Bossam kimchi. And the other way, when koreans do Gimjang, which is kimchi making for winter, cook Bossam. newly made kimchi is perfect match for Bossam.
And my aunt gives Bossam with white kimchi to us. it was my first try, but very delicious! Bossam is one of korean's favorite. There are lots of good restaurants as well. So you can try cooking or eating at one of them. i recommend!

Now, people share their own recipe to cook Bossam. one of the most popular ones is Pepsi cola recipe, which my sister and i want to try. haha will update the result soon! when i have some free time......
